Anya Anastasia is an independent folk singer, composer and performer from the Adelaide Hills.
As a multi-instrumentalist performing solo on guitar, ukulele, violin and piano - Anastasia’s songwriting is noted for her odd musical time signatures, rhythmic vocal delivery and an impressive operatic range. Lyrically she is best known for her wit, poetic lyricism and irreverent contemporary musings.
Having a foundation in traditional Celtic violin, Eastern European folk tunes, and the South American charango, Anya seamlesly blends these roots with her contemporary influences often recalling the likes of Diamanda Galás, Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley.
Anya Anastasia has traversed the globe with her original songs and bold performance pieces appearing at festivals in Europe, UK, the US, Australia, and New Zealand is the creator and writer of multiple critically acclaimed music-theatre shows. In 2019 she made her debut Off-Broadway in New York in 2019 with her show "The Executioners", and performed at the Woodford Folk Festival.
