Movement is in our nature!
This 3 hour workshop with dance artist Tanya Voges starts with a mindful walk to the Parklands, includes movement practices and observational sketches of the flora before continuing in the studio. Back at the Breakout Space at The Mill you will learn performance drawing techniques using dance and drawing, movement and mark-making with natural materials.
Connecting physically to nature and connecting to our bodies by using nonverbal expression of movement and the natural items to draw with, makes this a unique workshop relating to the themes of feeling more "at home" in ourselves and in nature!
All levels of experience welcome. This workshop is designed for adults, but please enquire if you would like to bring a family member younger than 18 years old and we'll see if we can include them.
Bring your curiosity to extend your practice or to try something new.
Participants from previous workshops have said:
"It was so interesting to go in and try something completely new & discuss how movement and dance can be translated to the paper."
"Thinking about body mechanics and representation of yourself moving in space was so interesting."
"Thank you for holding such a nurturing space, Tanya. It was great to do something for myself!"
