Bird-banding provides opportunities to see birds close-up and appreciate their distinctive features which are often not easily visible through binoculars.
This bird-banding is part of a long-term study to document patterns of movement and survival of a suite of woodland birds that are disappearing from the Mt Lofty region.
Attendees will be able to hold some of the birds that are caught prior to releasing them. An optional tour of the planting programs (~ 1h) which BioR is undertaking on Frahns Farm is available after the 2 hour bird banding session.
For further information on the re-establishment of habitat for woodland birds on Frahns Farm visit the BioR website. Please note that numbers are limited to no more than 15 people in any one session.
