Youth Inc is an Adelaide-based learning alternative designed specifically for young people aged 17-24 who are looking for something a bit different.
Inspired to offer the students an opportunity to work together, experience nature and develop a series of life skills, a group of students and staff headed off on the five-day Kangaroo Island wilderness trail in April 2021.
For the students who completed the trail - it was life changing.
"This experience has changed my life. Not only did it give me the opportunity to develop some amazing new connections with people, as well as unforgettable memories and a completely new appreciation for nature, but it also made me reflect internally, which was scary but necessary." Youth Inc student
"What I took away from this experience is, hiking is a metaphor/example of life. You just have to keep on moving and put one foot in front of the other. There are always going to be bumps in the road, (challenges) (rocks and branches) but in the end, we can always reach our goals if we keep on moving forward at our own pace, and discovering more about ourselves." Join the students and staff who ventured on this journey as they share what they learned, loved and will carry forward from their connection with nature, each other and themselves.
