Join me for a beautiful workshop where you will learn the magic of making dye from avocado skins and then using this to upcylce thrifted garments that I have prepared for you to dye. This is a really gentle workshop that connects us with nature, gives us some hope in the war against waste and in so doing tends to both ourselves and our planet.
You will select a garment from a size inclusive range made out of natural fibres like silk , linen and cotton. Please come with an open mind, if you are unable to find something that is perfect for your own wardrobe you will be sure to find something that is suitable for you mum, daughter, aunty ,sister, neighbour or friend. After receiving instruction on some simple shibori techniques you will prepare your garment for the dye pot.

Whilst your garment is simmering away we will have an open discussion about all things dyeing including safety, selecting suitable garments, how to prepare garments for dyeing and much more. Bring a packed lunch as well as a bag to take your damp garment home in and a pair of dishwashing gloves to protect your hands from hot splashes. This workshop is suitable for adults only.
