It all starts with an egg.
Butterfly Conservation SA and Rosina Possingham present 'Herding Caterpillars', a new virtual reality experience that explores the life cycle of the Chequered Copper Butterfly - a rarely seen species that can be found in Adelaide’s southern parklands.
Step inside a vibrantly imagined virtual insect world and be guided by a host of delightful characters, as you discover the caterpillar’s journey from clueless critter to beguiling butterfly.
Based on a 2021 theatrical performance, Herding Caterpillars tells the story of the Chequered Copper’s connection with its host plant native sorrel and the common black ant.
With both mobile and seated VR options available, you’re free to select an experience that best suits you.
Herding Caterpillars would like to thank our key partners, CDW Animation , Flinder's University The VOID, and Brewed Engagement Extended Reality (BEER) Labs.
Please note: To fulfill your order, you must arrive 15 minutes before your session is due to start. Due to limited capacity, late entrants may be refused entry.
