A wonderfully immersive introduction to Nature Journaling at the historic Field River Valley.
Guided by Artist/Jewellery & Textile Designer Charlene Wills.
You will be given your own beautiful hand bound Nature Journal and natural branch pencil to keep as we begin our journey into mindfully exploring our natural world.
Discover the hidden gem that is Field River Valley.
Following the winding creek and the historic buildings we uncover sit spots to engage and connect with nature through art.
Learn to record, collect thoughts and questions, make notes and observations on our findings and sketch the beauty that surrounds us.
Learn the Art of Seeing with gratitude.
Slow down and use mindfulness techniques to connect with and capture more of your subject.
Uncover the magic of nature by discovering techniques to build sketches from shapes, light and adding texture and movement.
Discover our local history and the natural habitat for many forms of bird life and wildlife that surrounds.
As a small group there is the opportunity to connect as a group or individually. As well as plenty of opportunities for questions and pondering the subjects we are sketching.
You will need to bring your own drink bottle and appropriate enclosed footwear for walking/ hiking.
*A moderate fitness level is required as there are some inclines for walking and some slightly rocky areas.
We endeavour to be back on time however please leave some time in case we are slightly latearriving back- this can be common when engaging in nature in a deeper level.
The nearest toilets are located at the shopping centre, please ensure you are prepared for this as the valley does not have toilet amenities.
Treasure the gift of Nature Journaling, it has been reported that regular journaling decreases anxiety and depression symptoms, improves mood and mental clarity and increases our gratitude and sense of wellness. Open your senses to a new and wonderful experience in discovering natures treasures.
We welcome you to join us on the first of many of our Nature Journaling sessions.
