The Port Environment Centre has created a nature bingo sheet to help you learn to identify local beach and dune species. We also have the adventure trail sheet for the youngsters to get in touch with the different species they may encounter.
This is a fun way to learn about the coastal environment through a hands-on experience.
On Wednesday 30 September 2020 at 10am - 11am
This event is part of the South Australian 2020 Nature Festival; a ten day program of activities and experiences all dedicated to celebrating South Australian nature in positive, creative, and meaningful ways.
You will be encouraged to discover and explore this local environment, with volunteers on hand to answer questions and help you with your nature bingo sheet. You will walk along and explore the pathways through and along the dunes. During the 60 minutes you will probably cover around 1km.
This beach session is suitable for families with children of all ages. Adults and older children will learn so much about our local coastal environment, whilst younger children will enjoy exploring the beach.
Children must be accompanied by a guardian and be appropriately supervised at all times.
Meet at the north end of the Taperoo Dunes carpark by the PEC flag (on Lady Gowrie Drive). Please meet 15 minutes before the session starts.
Please contact the Port Environment Centre if you have any mobility or access concerns.
Bring a pencil or pen to be able to fill in your bingo sheets. As it’s an outdoor event, we suggest you bring your own jackets, hats, sunscreen, water bottle and snacks.
We recommend you wear appropriate footwear and clothing to safely explore the beach environment.
We will cancel or postpone the event if the weather forecast is for heavy rain. We will notify you of this via email and sms.
Numbers are limited, so please let us know if you can no longer make it.
