Hiding among the delightful gardens of Carrick Hill are a collection of stories that have enchanted children and adults for generations. Stories born of the natural world, and of our place within it. Join acclaimed storyteller and performer, Michael Mills, as Mr Bill, the man who helped build Carrick Hill and started the Christmas Pageant, on a storytelling adventure to re-discover some of our most favourite stories. And as you travel throughout the much-loved Storybook Trail, where all manner of wonderful, magical, mythical creatures dwell, be reminded of the true wonder of the world we are a part of. Of the forests and gardens that surround us, where stories are born.
Through masterful improvisation, and by engaging the audience at every step, “Once upon a time...” invites everyone to be part of the adventure. To sing a little, dance a bit, and travel together to old worlds, new worlds, and other worlds. To be reminded that we don’t need to visit nature, for wherever we might be, we are already in it! And while every show starts at the beginning, and ends at the end, what happens in between is very much up to you!
Suggestion audience is primary school aged children 5 - 11 years old.
