Learn how to pickle, ferment and preserve nature in a jar with Grow it Local and Paul West!
Nature provides our food. What we eat, and how we interact with food, has direct impacts on the environment and our natural systems. Learning to preserve food through the ancient art of pickling and fermenting can help you to preserve food, waste less, and tread a little more lightly on the earth.
This workshop is part of a broader program by Grow It Local, supporting you to grow food at home, connect with nature through gardening, and experience positive impacts in health, wellbeing and sustainability.
At this event you will:
* learn how to pickle
* learn how to ferment
* take home a jar of pickles and a jar of sauerkraut
* connect with fellow community members, share gardening experiences, and foster a stronger local grower network.
What to bring:
* We will provide the produce, jars and equipment however you can bring an apron if you would like to wear one - not essential
* a drink bottle
See you there and get ready to Pickle Party!
This event is brought to you by Grow It Local and Green Adelaide in partnership with the City of Marion and Oz Harvest. Growing food and connecting to nature is part of Adelaide being a National Park City.
