An exclusive one-off workshop for a maximum of 12 participants (aged 16+ years).
This intimate small group workshop will be facilitated by floral designer Sky Allen of Arcadia aquatic. You will be guided to create your own take home floral arrangement of locally grown flora inspired by Sky’s Carrick Hill ‘In Bloom’ floral exhibition.
Arcadia aquatic is Sky Allen’s floral sculpture practice focusing on exploring Place and Sustainability. This intimate guided workshop will delve into Sky’s ‘floral outsider’ approach and reimagining the ‘everyday’ flora in our home gardens, local neighbourhoods and landscapes. Under Sky’s guidance participants will explore the visual beauty that emerges when flora is reconsidered and presented in a contemporary arrangement.
Your workshop experience will include a personal tour of her Carrick Hill ‘In Bloom’ floral exhibition, demonstrations of how to work with materials, and a special floral arrangement (in vase) made by you to take home. The intimate small group Master Class ensures lots of time for sharing stories, questions, play and creative flow. Light refreshments included to keep your creativity fuelled. All levels of experience welcome.
A carefully curated selection of locally grown fresh blooms, foliage and seedpods is included to create your take home floral arrangement.
Participants are encouraged to bring a vase they love from home for the Master Class, alternatively, a glass vase will be provided.
Participants are also encouraged to bring a bunch of one type of floral materials from their garden or neighbourhood you would like to explore using with the workshop flora selection. This doesn’t need to be flowers, it can be seedpods or leafy foliage.
