Still life is an observance of beauty and detail in the world around us and there are few subjects more worthy of celebration than plants. Still life also demands we slow down, notice, reflect and capture.
Join Trees For Life's 2021 artist-in-residence Rosina Possingham as she shares the skills and joy of crafting still life.
Participants will be encouraged to bring along cut materials from their favourite and fascinating plants from home to combine with plants and materials found at the wonderful Westwood Nursery to create and capture their own composition.
Participants will have an opportunity to create images in both digital and medium format. The medium format negative is twice as large as a normal 35mm negative, making large scale sharp prints possible.
If you have an interest in photography, botany, beauty or mindful hobbies this is going to be a Festival highlight.
Rosina Possingham is an emerging mulit-disciplinary South Australian artist, designer and photographer who is motivated to challenge, observe and rediscover the way people connect and experience landscape and environment. She is undertaking a residency with Trees For Life in its 40th year to tell stories of the incredibly dedicated community of South Australians who have contributed to its critical work over the past four decades.
