Decorate a strip of green fabric to show what you love about our Green Belt of Park Lands.
Adelaide is the only city in the world built inside a park, offering opportunities for us all to build encounters with nature in our everyday lives.
We are celebrating our green belt (of park lands) by adorning and wearing one, and linking with other belt wearers to form a giant figure of 8 at ‘The Belt Assembly’ Sunday 16th October, (location & time details tbc)
Belts have a long tradition of bearing stories of culture:for example, the American Indian Wampum Belts were used in ceremonies and for storytelling - the beaded and woven belt serving as a visual representation of the narrative.
The Adelaide Sustainability Centre (at The Joinery) will have a range of materials for you to choose from to adorn your belt, plus help if you need it!
