Join David Speirs for a 5km walk with plenty of time to ask questions and enjoy the park views.
The creation of Adelaide's newest national park, Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve and revitalise a large area of existing open space in our southern suburbs and turn it into a thriving environmental and recreational precinct for the whole community.
The historic Glenthorne property continues to occupy almost the same footprint as the land selected in London by Major O’Halloran in 1835-36. The natural and historic values of this property have been documented and it provides outstanding opportunities for community recreation, site interpretation and wildlife refuge.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Walk will meet at the Glenthorne Ranger Station, just off Majors Road, O'Halloran Hill.
This event supports Adelaide National Park City.
