The Adelaide foothills are filled with incredible trails.
Trails that include indigenous heritage, lookouts, waterfalls, creeks, mining history and diverse ecosystems.
The Wheal Watkins Gully is one such area. Incredible views, significant history, revegetation. The history of this place is diverse.
- Dave Monceaux (Above Ground Tours at Wheal Watkins Historical Mine) for the Burnside Historical Society, will give us insight into what one slice of time looked like, and
- Melissa Hellwig, geologist and nature connector (Naturehood, Nurturehood) will guide a "meditation through time" to consider what the landforms and area looked like from the start of time to envisaging perhaps what it might look like in even thousands of years from now !
We will do some WONDERING exercises - acting as if everything we meet is alive, matters and has its own story.
We will do some WANDERING exercises - a mental "fitness routine" to keep our attention strong, soothe nervous systems & increase concentration.
This will be a relaxing, creative event. It may conjour up feelings about our living world, its loss and beauty.
**This event is not suitable for young children or those with accessibility needs.**
