The Blue Minds Youth Forum brings together young people for a session focused on turning eco-anxiety into hope, agency, and action. Blue Minds is Australia's largest youth ocean leadership program, delivered by Surfers for Climate in partnership with The Good Human Factory, and uses ocean connection as a way into deeper climate engagement.
The forum includes a film screening, a beach clean up led by a local surfboard shaper, and an interactive session designed to build connection, inspire, and support young people to lead real world impact locally.
This session is a strong fit for the Nature Festival because it centres young people's relationship with nature at a moment when eco-anxiety is a widespread and growing experience. Rather than adding to that distress, Blue Minds offers a hands on, evidence based pathway from concern to genuine agency, one that gets young people into nature, connects them with local community, and leaves them equipped to take action, aligning directly with the Festival's purpose.
