*** Come and help us celebrate Vintners Walk Butterfly Garden's 10th Anniversary ***
10 years ago a seed of an idea was planted in the heart of Hackham West - to honour local nature and create a place of flourishing for all...
Plants - those that grow tall and high and plants that creep along the ground
Creatures of the air - birds & butterflies & bees,
Creatures of the earth - creepy crawlies and the network of invisible underground mycelium to which we owe our existence
Us humans who do so much better if we get to hear birdsong and see the glittering of the sun on leaves.
We want to share with you what we have grown and capture how much we cherish the wonderful natural world in an ambitious one day community art project that will sing out to all who pass - nature matters and we love it!
On the day:
Painting artworks to be attached to the stobie poles around the Butterfly Garden and beyond. This will be accessible for all levels of ability - we will be using stencils and paints.
Creating an Elemental Tree together to be erected in the Butterfly Garden.
An interactive story-telling will draw you into the untold world of The Very Fussy Caterpillar and how we can bring the butterflies back.
Free sausage sizzle
Other activities for the kids
We have three time slots for arrival to ensure we can accommodate everyone's contribution to the community art project, Come early or stay later to enjoy all that is on offer beyond the community art.
Adults and children welcome!
