Last year, Dave McEvoy took a grand piano into the Australia’s largest temperate rainforest in Tasmania as part of Bob Brown Foundation’s annual Art For Takayna artists’ residency. Improvising with the ancient forest at dawn, he felt a transformative sense of connection with the magnificent natural world.
Dave carries this experience into these two extraordinary live events, performed in the round and surrounded by footage of the majestic Takayna forest on 110m2 of LED sceens. Joined by Lauren Henderson (voice) and Tasha Stevens (bass), this performance explores our human relationship with nature and calls us into presence and connection with ourselves, each other and our surroundings.
This performance is part of the live music series presented alongside the Art For Takayna immersive exhibition, showing until 10 October.
