Create your own portable garden and learn practical ways to bring more beauty, greenery and biodiversity into your space, even if you're renting or don't have access to a backyard.
This hands-on workshop is designed for young people aged 17 to 30 who are interested in plants, sustainability and making the most of small or temporary living spaces. Participants will learn how to select suitable plants, propagate cuttings and pot them in order to make the most of whatever space they have to work with.
With advice from a professional landscape designer, this workshop will explore simple approaches to gardening, with a focus on native Australian biodiversity and creating habitats for insects and other small garden visitors. It is an opportunity to build confidence, ask questions and develop practical skills that can be used in any type of home.
Some pots, plants, and seeds will be provided, giving participants the chance to start or add to their own portable garden while connecting with others over a shared love of all things green! All you need to bring are clothes that you're prepared to get a bit dirty!
