Join artist Stephanie Doddridge, Adelaide Botanic Gardens horticulturalist Flavio Perez, composer Antony Abbracciavento, and ACE Artistic Director Danni Zuvela for a multisensory plant identification tour at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
This experience centres on embodied ways of experiencing and knowing the natural world, moving beyond visual observation alone to welcome everyone, with a particularly warm welcome for members of the blind and low vision community and neurodivergent people.
Together, we will safely explore the identification of plants through tactile and olfactory discovery. We’ll gently examine the textures of stems, feel the intricate veins of leaves, breathe in the fragrances of spring blooms, and appreciate the unique shapes of fallen seeds and their pods. We’ll conclude with conversations and plant-based music from ABG plant expert Flavio Perez.
