Every thriving landscape begins with a seed.
Join The Forktree Project for an engaging behind-the-scenes exploration of how native seeds become thriving ecosystems. Guided by our nursery manager, discover the fascinating stories behind some of South Australia's unique native plant species, their role in supporting biodiversity, and the careful process of collecting seed, propagating and growing plants for habitat restoration.
The experience begins with a presentation and propagation demonstration showcasing the remarkable diversity of local seeds. You'll then enjoy a guided tour of our rare seed orchard and our native plant nursery, where thousands of seedlings begin their journey to help restore habitats across the region, and a walk through some of the revegetation work we've done over the last 6 years.
The event concludes with a tour of the Forktree Project house, a unique venue built using the latest eco-friendly, recycled and reclaimed materials that reflects our commitment to minimising our impact on the earth. The tour will be followed by a light lunch and the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and members of The Forktree Project team. Each participant will also receive a locally grown native plant to take home as a reminder that every thriving landscape starts with a seed. Whether it is a plant, an idea or a community willing to care for the future, we hope you'll leave inspired to plant your own seed for nature.
