Home Sweet Habitat returns again to the Nature Festival, inviting young changemakers to dream, design and build a greener future for Adelaide!
Hosted by the Adelaide Sustainability Centre and presented by the Australian Institute of Architects, this hands-on workshop introduces children to the exciting world of regenerative design, thinking beyond sustainability and imagining ways our cities can actively give back to nature.
Over three creative hours, children aged 7–10 will cut, draw, stick, sketch and build their own ideas for Adelaide’s future. Working alongside real professionals from the architecture and building industry, participants will explore how homes, parks, streets and neighbourhoods can support wildlife, improve biodiversity, capture water, grow food and create healthier communities.
Through a fun design challenge and collaborative making activity, kids will discover how their ideas can help shape a city that works with nature, not against it. They'll learn that great design isn't just about buildings, it's about creating places where people, plants and animals can all thrive together.
