An embodied ritual to plant the seeds of renewal within us following the loss of many trees. A new dance performance by Cinzia Schincariol and Marcus Louend.
Located within the Adelaide Park Lands, Possum Park is currently at the heart of a heated debate over the government's removal of hundreds of trees to upgrade a golf course. Amidst this ongoing political friction, our performance focuses on creating a space for stillness and contemplation.
This new work specifically designed for the festival wishes to allow the audience to sit with the pain of this loss while searching for seeds of renewal and newness. Audiences will be invited in brief moments of participation and exploration so that the sense of collective ritual is created through very simple yet meaningful actions.
As a debut collaboration between two established dance artist, Cinzia and Marcus, who recently discovered a shared movement practice inspired by trees, this piece represents the first seed of a larger vision, bridging artistic practice, performance, nature, mental health and community. This is a free and peaceful event and anyone is invited.
