Mud Kitchen is a free, drop-in nature play activity for children aged 2 to 8 years, presented by Climbing Tree at Netley Community Garden. Children can mix, pour, scoop and stir natural materials to create their own muddy recipes while enjoying imaginative, hands-on play in a welcoming garden environment.
The activity is an excellent fit for Nature Festival because it invites children to build a joyful and creative connection with nature through sensory play, imagination and exploration. Using soil, water and other natural materials encourages curiosity and gives children the freedom to experiment, cooperate and experience nature through their senses.
Held within Netley Community Garden, the activity also introduces families to a valuable local green space and shows how gardens can support play, learning and community connection.
