Sandy Harder will guide participants along a short trail at Brinkworth Reserve, where they will map the discoveries they encounter — tiny seeds, shifting shadows, grass tree silhouettes, and the small wonders that reward patient looking.
In the spirit of this year’s Nature Festival theme, Seed, she explores how each sketch, word, and observation becomes a seed of awareness that grows into a richer connection with place. Participants will create a hand-drawn map, then transform it into painted words and an adventure story inspired by their own discoveries.
Sandy Harder is a Port Lincoln based artist whose work is rooted in close observation, expressive mark-making, and a deep connection to the Eyre Peninsula’s coastal and bush landscapes. Moving between oils, drawing, printmaking, and nature journaling, she invites people to slow down, notice deeply, and explore how creativity strengthens our relationship with place. Sandy is known for her warm, intuitive teaching style and her ability to help participants find confidence in simple tools — a pencil, a brush, a moment of curiosity. Her workshops blend art, storytelling, and environmental awareness, encouraging people to see the natural world not just as scenery, but as a living archive of textures, patterns, and quiet treasures.
