Adelaide’s Park Lands are familiar to locals, but Piano in the Park offers a moment of surprise: a person sitting at a piano, playing music that invites us to stop, listen and look around.
Gerd Winter’s original compositions are an invitation to reconnect with familiar surroundings and to pause, whether you happen to be passing by or have come especially to listen. The music doesn’t distract from the park; it draws us in, creating an emotional tapestry that sits in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
In this way, Piano in the Park is a seed: an invitation to experience the familiar anew, with a different perspective, a different focus, and perhaps a renewed connection with the environment.
The event will unfold over two days, with three-hour performances held at a location along the Torrens River.
