Move with the elements. Deepen your connection to nature through the body.
Join internationally renowned Brazilian dance pioneer Rosangela Silvestre for a rare four-day immersion into Silvestre Technique - a contemporary Afro-Brazilian movement practice that explores the profound relationship between the human body and the natural world.
Developed over decades of artistic and cultural research, Silvestre Technique draws inspiration from the Orixás - deities within Afro-Brazilian tradition that embody the forces of nature, including rivers, forests, oceans, storms and the earth. Through guided movement, participants explore the qualities of these natural elements, discovering how rhythm, breath and physical expression can foster a deeper understanding of our place within nature.
Each session is accompanied by live percussion, creating an immersive dialogue between movement, music and the elemental energies that inspire the practice.
Over 16+ hours across four days, participants will investigate contemporary movement, improvisation and embodied expression in a supportive yet rigorous environment led by one of Brazil's most respected dance educators.
This intensive is designed for participants with an existing dance or movement practice and involves sustained, vigorous physical activity.
Whether you are a professional dancer, dance educator or curious mover, this is a rare opportunity to explore an internationally recognised movement methodology that celebrates culture, creativity and our enduring relationship with the natural world.
