The Quorn Nature Festival Week event embraces the 2026 theme of SEED by bringing together children, families, and the wider community through shared experiences that celebrate growth, connection, resilience, and the quiet possibility of change.
The program begins with a community Story Time session for young children and their families, where participants create grass heads together. Foundation to Year 2 students will then participate in a multigenerational gardening session, propagating plants for the school garden and learning how knowledge and traditions can be passed from one generation to another. Year 3 and 4 students will investigate the hidden beauty of nature by taking close-up photographs of plants and seeds in the school and community garden.
Year 5 and 6 students will explore “Seeds of Delight” through cooking activities using herbs, spinach, and seeds grown in the garden. Secondary students, supported by community volunteers, will plant native trees linking the school garden to the nature playground.
This event is part-funded through a Nature Festival regional micro-grant, generously supported by RAA and the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
