A Spring Gathering: The Art of Beginnings celebrates the connection between nature, creativity and place. Set within the historic grounds of Glen Ewin Estate, this immersive experience invites participants to slow down, observe their surroundings and reconnect with the simple joy of creating something by hand.
Beginning with a gentle walk through the estate’s gardens, orchard and oak-lined grounds, participants will gather seasonal treasures such as leaves, blossoms, seed pods and acorns, taking time to notice the small details and beauty of the landscape as spring begins.
Back in the outdoor studio, these natural elements become the inspiration for a botanical illustration created using pen, ink and watercolour. Guided through simple techniques, participants will create a personal artwork to take home — a keepsake reflecting their own connection to the season and the place.
The experience culminates with a small piece of the landscape to nurture and enjoy at home: a potted acorn grown from the historic oak trees of Glen Ewin Estate. A symbol of growth and new beginnings, the acorn reminds us that every great tree begins with a single seed, as all creative journeys begin with a single idea.
Through connection, conversation and creativity, this workshop encourages you to slow down, connect with nature and discover inspiration in the world around us.
