In the heart of Hackham West lives a Very Fussy Caterpillar who is quite particular about the types of plants it likes to munch on! Can you help it find its favourite native plant species to fill its belly, so it can grow into a beautiful butterfly?
Hear the tale of The Very Fussy Caterpillar at one of our three story telling sessions held at 10.30am, 11.15am or 12pm. Then craft your own butterfly to fly around the garden and find the best plants for it to feed on.
This event will also include a variety of nature-based activities to help you learn about the life cycle of the butterfly.
Be sure to bring along covered shoes (for stomping around the garden), a hat and a water bottle (in case we are blessed with a sunny day).
All ages are welcome to this free event.
The Vintners Walk Butterfly Garden is a project of People Matters Hackham West. Our aim is to attract more wildlife into our suburbs through transforming a disused reserve into a habitat for indigenous wildlife and a space for community to connect.
