Join the launch of Community Waterway Portrait
Friday 12th September | First Creek, Tusmore
Visual artist Laura Wills warmly invites you to the launch of Community Waterway Portrait, a new participatory artwork celebrating our connections to water.
Together we will begin the stitching of this collective piece, laying the foundation for an evolving artwork shaped by the community.
The opening will also feature a moving waterway activation by guest performer Tanya Voges, bringing First Creek to life through performance.
Ways to get involved at the launch
Take part in stitching – join others in creating the first patches of the artwork.
Contribute a photo – share an image of yourself with a tap, drain, creek, or body of water you feel connected to. These photos will be transformed by Laura into digital drawings, printed onto fabric, and stitched together as part of the portrait.
Ongoing contributions
Community Waterway Portrait is an ever-growing collective project combining photography, drawing, and stitching.
Think about the waterways that shape your life. Which body of water matters to you? Capture it in a photo and upload it here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WLM2QYZ
Together, these contributions will form a portrait of our shared relationship with water.
