Dancing with Dolphins
Get ready to dive into a fun, interactive marine adventure that combines movement, discovery, and conservation! Dancing with Dolphins is an exciting outdoor experience designed to inspire participants to connect with nature while learning about the incredible dolphins that call our local waters home.
Delivered by Fleurieu Marine Education, this hands-on program uses games, dance, storytelling, and citizen science activities to explore the fascinating world of dolphins. Participants will discover how we can all help protect these amazing marine mammals and the habitats they depend on.
Through a range of fun and engaging activities, participants will:
Learn how simple choices, such as reducing single-use plastics, can help keep dolphins safe and healthy.
Explore what dolphins need to thrive, including their diet and the importance of protecting coastal and marine habitats.
Understand how to respectfully observe and interact with dolphins in the wild.
Express dolphin movements and behaviours through creative dance and movement-based activities.
Meet the team from local not-for-profit VH/KI Dolphin Watch and learn about the valuable role of citizen science in protecting marine life.
Discover how scientists identify individual dolphins and how this research helps us understand dolphin populations, home ranges, and the importance of Marine Park zoning.
Dancing with Dolphins offers a unique opportunity to learn, move, explore, and become a champion for marine conservation while having plenty of fun along the way.
This event is part-funded through a Nature Festival regional micro-grant, generously supported by RAA and the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
