Véra Ada's Nature Festival exhibition at Gallery Flaneur, explores the new and existing photographs taken in nature while in a flow state. Since returning to Adelaide after seven years overseas, Véra has been re-adjusting to life here, rediscovering familiar and unfamiliar places, reconnecting with people and managing reverse culture shock. Photography has always been a grounding practice during times of transition, helping her slow down and engage with her surroundings.
The exhibition features a mix of photographic mediums, darkroom prints, test strips, contact sheets, polaroids - brought together in a fluid, collage-like form. The space constraints help shape this collection sourced from a broad body of work.
This exhibition reflects the Nature Festival theme with both the content of the artwork, as well as the process of making it.
