Join our Kaurna artist for a hands on workshop where you’ll learn the traditional practice of wood carving using traditional techniques and modern resources. Create your own set of clapping sticks or a digging stick. As you carve, you’ll hear stories about the significance of these tools, their role in daily life, ceremony, and connection to land. We’ll also share the different uses of woods native to Kaurna Country and beyond, how these were collected, and how materials were traded.
Suitable for adults. Participants will be required to sign a safety agreement in order to participate. All materials provided.
