Come along to share stories, build connections, celebrate culture, and be inspired by the possibilities that grow from a single seed. The day will bring together artists, cultural practitioners and community members, with First Nations voices and cultures represented throughout the program.
140 years since the last known corroboree in Strathalbyn, this gathering honours culture, history and connection to Country while creating space for new stories and shared experiences.
Time: Saturday 10th October 2.00pm until late.
Join Uncle Moogy, respected Ngarrindjeri Elder who has encouraged so many in the Murray catchment to sing country and water, in welcoming all nations to this inclusive day of celebration for First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The event will include representatives and respected Elders from other Ngarrindjeri, Peramangk and Kaurna Nations, alongside artists sharing culture through creative practice, performance, storytelling and connection.
There will be a variety of activities to participate in, including weaving, painting, and woodwork led by First Nations artists and cultural facilitators. The program will also feature dancing and singing in Ngarrindjeri language.
Meals featuring native ingredients will be available.
Overnight camping is available for those who wish to stay late to enjoy the dancing and storytelling.
Sunday 11 October - Breakfast and coffee will be available. This will be a time for connection and conversation.
Please note - This is a family friendly drug and alcohol-free event. Children are required to be under adult supervision and must attend with an adult.
