Every healthy ecosystem begins with a seed. Join us at dusk to explore another small but mighty part of nature's story: bats.
As daylight fades and the evening comes alive, join us for a twilight adventure that will open your eyes to the hidden world of bats and the remarkable connections that keep nature thriving.
Join Alexandrina Council and Second Nature for a family-friendly exploration of the night, where we'll uncover the role bats play in healthy ecosystems. Guided by wildlife ecologists and bat experts Dr’s Martin and Monika Rhodes, you'll discover how fruit bats are one of Australia’s most important pollinators and seed dispersers, and how microbats move through our landscapes, hunt insects with incredible precision, and contribute to nature's delicate balance.
Following an engaging presentation, we'll head outdoors equipped with bat detectors to tune into the ultrasonic world of microbats. As we walk beneath the stars, you'll have the chance to hear their calls, observe their movements, and experience the night from a whole new perspective.
Plant a seed of wonder, follow your curiosity, and discover the extraordinary wildlife that emerges after dark.
