This 3 hr workshop, facilitated by local singer-songwriters Naomi Keyte and Jamie Lena Kerslake, will guide participants through a songwriting practise to deepen connection with the natural world, providing a container for climate grief//anxiety.
After a 10 min silent walk to the workshop location, songwriters will be lead through a 3 part creative practice; group lyric harvesting, musical world building, and mutualism (bringing lyrics and music together).
To conclude the workshop, participants will be invited to share their creations and insights with the group.
This workshop hopes to plant the seed of a songwriting practise that may continue to flourish within participants long after the event has passed. We believe that all people hold invaluable creativity, and hope that this workshop will empower others, and therefore their broader networks to share care and insights - the inspiration and vulnerability of music is contagious!
Light refreshments provided. Please see email upon sign up for further information regarding bathrooms, and parking.
please note - accessibility is limited due to the nature of the walking trail. Un-even ground, steep incline, and distant bathrooms. If you would benefit from having a stool/chair to sit on at the workshop location (rather than sitting on rubs/the ground), please let us know ahead of time so we can do our best to accomodate.
