Award-winning theatre company Slingsby brings together a multidisciplinary panel of speakers to discuss the impacts that theatre-making and touring have on our environment and the responsibility of the arts in shaping young minds and lives in the face of the climate crisis.
Based on Kaurna Meyunna Yerta in Adelaide, Slingsby produces and tours original theatre for family audiences and young people aged eight years and over. Slingsby's Artistic Director & CEO, Andy Packer, will share learnings from their practice as an arts organisation transitioning to a new creative approach, with positive environmental impact at its centre.
The afternoon will include an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at The Wandering Hall of Possibility – a regeneratively designed, portable theatre that will soon house Slingsby’s legacy production A Concise Compendium of Wonder. This transformative, immersive theatre experience explores humanity’s relationship with the natural environment across millennia through a collection of three tales of resilience, courage and hope.
Ticket includes drink on arrival.
