What is a seed ball?
Also known as a seed bomb, a small ball made from a mixture of seeds, clay and soil to prepare the seed for planting for a future date.
Purpose: Seed balls are used to plant seeds easily without digging or tilling the soil. They’re especially popular in planting in neglected urban areas and rewilding efforts.
How do they work: You throw or place the seed ball on the ground, and when it rains (or you water it), the ball dissolves, the seeds sprout, and the nutrients in the mix gives them a head start.
