Explore Bat World

Hosted by

Hosted by

Calling all Bat lovers!!! Come and join us for an educational tour of Adelaide's only Flying-fox colony. You will be mesmerized.

Welcome to EXPLORE BAT WORLD!!

We are delighted to invite you to join us for our fourth year participating in our amazing "Explore Bat World" , as part of The Nature Festival.

We are volunteer Flying-fox rescuers, carers, educators and emergency rescue hotline operators. Come and take a leisurely walk with us around Adelaide's only Flying-fox colony. You will learn about these incredible, fascinating and ecologically important animals. You will be right within their home, observing and learning. We are happy to answer all of your questions as we go.

As the sun begins to set, we will cross to the viewing area and set up our picnics to watch the absolutely mesmerizing nightly fly-out as the Flying-foxes head out to feed and perform their ecological duties of pollination and seed dispersal.

We encourage you to bring warm clothes, a picnic basket, blankets, chairs and anything that will help make you comfortable to just relax and enjoy the event.

We respect the home of the Flying-foxes and we ask that you remain respectful of your surroundings by not making loud noises, leaving rubbish etc.

WE MEET AT THE BRIDGE TO THE LEFT OF THE ZOO ENTRANCE ON PLANE TREE DRIVE
