Join our ‘Mums & Bubs Nature Bathing Walk’ which takes in panoramic scenery along a beautiful relatively flat section of the Coast Park Walking Trail.
Take a moment to relax and connect with your little one in nature; decompress and meet like-minded mothers to share your stories over a early light lunch and cuppa.
We’ll be walking on a compacted gravel/dirt trail or grass from the Maslin Beach Tuit Road car park to Chinaman Gully (approximately 3km return) taking 1 - 1.5 hours.
On the way back, we’ll stop at Blanche Point for a early picnic style lunch and say ‘thanks’ over a cup of tea.
So what is ‘nature bathing’ you ask?
Nature bathing also known in Japan as shinrin-yoku, translates to ‘forest bathing’ or ‘absorbing the forest atmosphere’. It involves slow walking using the five senses (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste) in a mindful way to fully immerse yourself in nature; and is deeply relaxing and rewarding for those that participate.
Connecting with nature brings huge health and well-being benefits and is especially important in early childhood development. It gives people a sense of grounding and feeling at ‘home’ within themselves and creates an important sense of place.
This event aims to connect new mums and their babies to nature in a mindful way; whilst providing an important networking opportunity over a light lunch to share stories, experiences and build community connections.
Please wear suitable clothing/ shoes, bring a water bottle, hat, sunnies and anything else you need to be self sufficient with your baby for 2 hours.
Please note that in the event of bad weather the event will be postponed.
