University of Adelaide - Waite Arboretum

The Waite Arboretum is one of South Australia’s most important collections of trees. Specimens are planted over 25 hectares of land in Urrbrae, South Australia. The collection comprises of over 2,500 tree specimens growing under natural annual rainfall and demonstrates the performance of a range of Australian and exotic trees to the local environment of Adelaide. The Waite Arboretum is a repository for rare and endangered species playing an important role in the conservation of species that have a very restricted natural distribution. It also fosters an awareness of trees in the landscape and improves our appreciation of the importance of trees in our environment.
